Conditions included

  • Skin tags (acrochordons)
  • Moles & melanocytic nevi (benign)
  • Seborrhoeic keratosis (stuck-on brown/black growths)
  • Syringoma (small sweat-gland tumours near eyelids)

When to remove

  • Cosmetic concern or rubbing/irritation
  • Change in size, color, bleeding — requires assessment
  • Patient preference after informed discussion

Safety first

Every lesion is evaluated—suspicious features prompt biopsy and histologic assessment. Cosmetic removals are performed with techniques to minimize scarring.

Office procedures

  • Shave excision or elliptical excision with local anesthesia
  • Cryotherapy for small seborrhoeic keratoses and some tags
  • Electrocautery/diathermy for skin tags and syringomas when appropriate

Laser & light options

  • CO₂ or erbium lasers for selected seborrhoeic keratoses or cosmetically sensitive areas
  • Vascular/pigment lasers for lesion-related redness or pigment modulation

Laser choices depend on lesion type and skin tone to reduce pigmentary changes.

Histology & follow-up

  • Specimens sent for pathology if any atypical features
  • Follow-up to review histology and wound healing
  • Scar management options if needed

How to prepare

  • List current medications (anticoagulants, supplements)
  • Avoid blood-thinning supplements/NSAIDs before elective excision if advised
  • Arrange transportation if multiple or complex procedures planned

Aftercare

  • Keep site clean and dry; follow wound-care instructions
  • Avoid heavy exercise and local friction until healed
  • Sun protection to minimize scar pigmentation
Will removal leave a scar?

All removals carry some scarring risk; techniques aim to minimize visible scars and precise aftercare reduces long-term visibility.

Can I remove multiple lesions in one visit?

Yes—depending on size and location. We may stage treatments for safety and comfort.

Do removed moles ever come back?

Complete surgical removal usually prevents recurrence; regular skin checks are advised for new or changing lesions.
