Scarring & Blemish Removal Program
Specialized, stepwise plans to reduce acne scars, surgical and traumatic scars, and persistent blemishes — combining prevention, minimally invasive procedures, and long-term remodeling strategies.
Types of scarring we treat
- Atrophic acne scars (icepick, boxcar, rolling)
- Hypertrophic and keloid scars
- Surgical/traumatic scars and persistent blemishes
Program goals
- Reduce scar depth and improve texture
- Soften edges and blend scar with surrounding skin
- Minimize recurrence in keloid-prone patients
Expected timeline
4–8 weeks: early remodeling and texture change
3–6 months: significant improvement with staged treatments
Multiple sessions often required for best results.
Minimally invasive procedures
- Microneedling with PRP or topical serums
- Fractional lasers (ablative/non-ablative as selected)
- Subcision for tethered rolling scars
- Chemical reconstruction (CROSS) for icepick scars
Surgical & injectables
- Scar revision and punch techniques for deep icepick/boxcar scars
- Dermal fillers to lift depressed scars
- Intralesional corticosteroids for hypertrophic/keloid scars
Surgical choices are discussed in-depth with expected downtime and outcomes explained.
Adjunctive care
- Topical retinoids/peptides to improve remodeling
- Sun protection and pigment control to prevent darkening
- Silicone gels and pressure therapy where appropriate
How to prepare
- Bring prior treatment history and photos if available
- Avoid isotretinoin for 6 months before certain procedures unless cleared
- Stop blood-thinning supplements/NSAIDs as advised before invasive steps
Aftercare & recovery
- Follow wound-care instructions carefully after surgical or ablative procedures
- Expect transient redness, swelling; downtime varies by procedure
- Long-term maintenance may include topical agents and periodic touch-ups
Before & After
Show consenting patient photos demonstrating realistic staged improvements. Ideal format: side-by-side at similar lighting.
Can old scars be fully removed?
Complete removal is rarely possible; the goal is meaningful improvement in appearance and function. Multiple modalities often yield best outcomes.
Will treatments cause pigment changes?
Protocols are chosen to minimize post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, especially for darker skin types. Pre- and post-care reduces risk.
How many sessions will I need?
Depends on scar type and severity—many patients require 2–6 sessions spaced appropriately; surgical steps may be combined when needed.
